What is the degree of authenticity of the supplication (du'a) "O All-Loving, O All-Loving..." that some people circulate and request to be recited three times for a response?

The Hadith (definition) that mentions the story of Abu Mu'allaq and the supplication, "O Most Loving, Possessor of the Glorious Throne" (Ya Wadud, Ya Dhal-Arshil-Majeed), is a weak Hadith, and its chain of narration is flimsy and does not authentically trace back to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. The narrations concerning it are inconsistent, and it contains unknown and weak narrators, such as "Al-Kalbi," who was described as "not trustworthy." Although the words of the supplication are great and sound in their meaning, the inauthenticity of the chain of narration prevents one from believing that salvation or victory is guaranteed for whoever supplicates with them. However, there is no harm in supplicating with these words without attributing them to religious legislation.
