Does the deceased descend into his grave with only what he did in his worldly life, or also with what will come to him from his child's supplication and ongoing charity? And are the dreams that relatives see about the deceased—such as him being happy or wearing white—considered a reality?

He who dies and leaves behind an ongoing charity (sadaqah (definition) jariyah) or a righteous child who supplicates for him, the reward for that reaches him when the benefit occurs. For example, the reward for building a mosque reaches him every time people pray in it, and this renews itself as long as the benefit persists. The vision's appearance is a good omen for his father.
