Is it permissible for the family of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, to eat from the dates distributed to those who are fasting in the Grand Mosque, and is charity forbidden for a woman married to a member of the Messenger’s family or for a man married to a member of the Messenger’s family?

It is permissible for the Prophet's household (Ahl al-Bayt), may Allah bless him and grant him peace, to consume voluntary charity (sadaqat al-tatawwu'). This is according to the sound opinion of the majority of scholars. What is forbidden for them is to consume obligatory zakat (definition), because it is considered from the "filth of people," whereas voluntary charity is not. An exception to this is the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, for whom charity, both obligatory and voluntary, was absolutely forbidden. Based on this, there is no harm for anyone who belongs to the Prophet's household to eat from the food and drink distributed in the Two Holy Mosques, as it is from voluntary charity.
