Are crops, fruits, and livestock designated for trade subject to zakat al-tijara (business assets zakat)?

Zakat (definition) is obligatory on crops and fruits if they are among those on which Zakat is due and they reach the nisab (definition), even if they are intended for trade, based on the Almighty's saying: "And give its due on the day of harvest." However, Zakat is not obligatory on their price after they are sold unless a hawl (full lunar year) passes over it and it reaches the nisab.

As for camels purchased for trade, they are subject to Zakat on trade goods. They are appraised at the end of the hawl, and a quarter of one-tenth (2.5%) of their value is given. For Zakat on trade goods, the value is considered. If it reaches the nisab, Zakat becomes obligatory on it, regardless of whether it is pastured, stall-fed, or leased.
