Is it permissible to listen to foreign songs to strengthen the English language?

It is not permissible to listen to music for the purpose of learning, because the means must be good, and the principle "the end justifies the means" is wrong. Allah has forbidden listening to musical instruments, and the proof for this is the saying of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "There will be people from my Ummah who will consider unlawful sexual intercourse, silk, intoxicants, and musical instruments to be lawful."
