What is the ruling on using makeup that leaves a shimmer and is difficult to remove? Does it affect the validity of ablution, and is it excusable?

A woman is permitted to adorn herself with makeup under three conditions: that she does not display it before non-mahram men, that it does not involve imitation of disbelieving or immoral women, and that it does not harm the skin. As for its effect on ablution (wudu'), makeup that does not form a layer preventing water from reaching the skin does not affect ablution. However, if it has an insulating layer, it must be removed before ablution. A strong presumption of its removal is sufficient when certainty is difficult to achieve, just as a slight sheen is overlooked by some scholars.
