Is it obligatory for a male nurse and a female nurse who work together and are in seclusion after official working hours to leave their job for fear of temptation (fitna), despite the unavailability of another job for their livelihood?

It is not permissible for hospital administrators to assign a male and female nurse to spend the night alone on guard duty, as this invites indecency. Satan beautifies the act for them when they are alone, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "No man is alone with a woman but Satan is the third of them." It is obligatory to abandon this practice. Whoever fears Allah, He will appoint for him a way out and provide for him from whence he expects not. The nurse must beware of this and resign if her request is not met.
