The validity of a man's marriage is not conditioned on his parents' consent. However, if his father prevents him from marrying a specific woman, he should leave her, unless he would be harmed by not marrying her. For the marriage to be valid, there must be an offer (Ijab) from the wife's guardian (wali) or his representative, and an acceptance (Qabul) from the husband or his representative, in the presence of two witnesses. The presence of the husband's family is not a condition.

If you have validly contracted the marriage with the woman, she becomes your wife, and whatever is permissible for a husband from his wife becomes permissible for you. You are not required to move her to your country. However, custom dictates that the husband is not permitted to have intercourse with his wife until she is escorted to him (on the wedding night), and this custom should be observed. The wife is permitted to refuse to surrender herself to the husband until he pays her dower (mahr). Before embarking on any matter, you should consult with those of sound judgment and seek guidance from Allah, the Almighty.
