The question

What is the limit for washing the face in Wudu’ (ablution), and does it include the light hair above the forehead and the outer cartilage of the ear? And should the ears be wiped from the inside and outside? And is it necessary to repeat the prayer if the hands were not straight during prostration?

The answer

Hair growing on the forehead must be washed with the face, but hair growing on the top of the head above the forehead does not need to be washed. The cartilage of the ear does not need to be washed with the face; rather, the white area between the ear and the face must be washed. Wiping the ears is recommended (mustahabb) but not obligatory. The prayer is valid as long as the hands are placed on the ground. It is advisable to avoid giving in to obsessive thoughts.
