Learning the Arabic language is a religious obligation (fard shari) for understanding the Qur’an, the Sunnah, and gaining juristic comprehension in religion. This is achieved by studying its various sciences such as grammar (nahw), rhetoric (balaghah), and morphology (sarf), through its numerous works. Whoever wishes to master it should progress gradually in their studies, starting with easier books, and seeking assistance from a master (shaykh mutqin) of the language.
