A Muslim prays to Allah Almighty in compliance with the Quran's command to follow the Messenger Muhammad, peace be upon him. He is certain that obedience to him is obedience to Allah and a cause for Allah's love and success in both worlds. Allah has commanded obedience to Him and to His Messenger, and obedience to the Messenger is independently obligatory, whether what he commanded is in the Book or not. It is sufficient pride for a Muslim to be a servant of Allah and a follower of the Messenger, peace be upon him.
