The answer

It is not permissible to supplicate against a father, even if he is an oppressor. Rather, one should supplicate for his guidance and ask for his harm to be averted. Supplication for sin or for the severance of kinship ties is not answered. The questioner should repent to Allah by abandoning the sin, regretting it, and resolving not to return to it, for one who repents from a sin is like one who has no sin. Her previous supplication will not harm her after repentance.
