Does a woman in Islam have special rulings that restrict her freedom?

Umm Sulaym married Abu Talhah, and her mahr (dowry) was his acceptance of Islam. When their young son passed away, Umm Sulaym concealed the news from her husband until they had engaged in intimacy. Then, she informed him, using wisdom to convey that Allah had reclaimed His trust, whereupon Abu Talhah showed patience and sought Allah's reward. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, prayed for blessings upon them, and they were blessed with a son whom the Prophet named Abdullah and whose palate he softened with a date from his noble saliva. Abdullah grew up, and Allah blessed his descendants, and he was martyred fighting the Persians.
