How do we reconcile the fact that nothing occurs in God's dominion except what He wills, with the existence of matters He is displeased with and does not love?
All good and evil in the universe are decreed by Allah Almighty. Nothing occurs except by His permission and will. However, it is not necessary that Allah loves everything He creates. He detests disbelief and its people, even though He decrees its occurrence for profound wisdoms. Many acts of worship that are beloved to Allah depend on the existence of disbelievers, such as Jihad, enjoining good and forbidding evil, and realizing the value of the blessing of faith. So, Allah dislikes something yet wills it by His universal will (al-iradah al-kawniyyah) because of the great benefits that result from it, like bitter medicine taken by a sick person for healing, or a father who cauterizes his son for an illness. Allah creates what He dislikes and decrees it for great benefits that humans may not comprehend.
