What is the ruling on delaying marriage for more than three years because the girl stipulates the provision of her trousseau and a car, and what is the ruling on the wife moving to live in the husband's town despite limited job opportunities for her, with the fear of falling into temptations?

The fundamental principle concerning conditions in marriage is their validity and permissibility, unless they render lawful what is unlawful, or unlawful what is lawful. These conditions must be fulfilled, as the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Muslims are bound by their conditions," and "The most worthy of conditions to be fulfilled are those by which you make intimacy lawful."

If the fiancée stipulates a three-year delay for the marriage, this condition is valid, and the suitor has the choice to agree or refuse. To avoid discord, it is possible to negotiate an earlier marriage while the wife remains in her city, or he may marry someone else if he cannot be patient.

The wife's relocation to her husband's country is obligatory upon her if it is safe and poses no harm to her. She is not obligated to work as long as her husband provides for her, unless his salary is insufficient; in which case, she has the right not to move until she finds suitable employment.
