Do constant dizziness and the suspicion of it being a demonic possession contradict prayer and patience, what is the ruling on neglecting medical examinations, and how can one know the cause of this affliction and deal with it Islamically?

Supplication (Du'a) does not contradict patience (sabr), for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, guided the sick to supplicate. Patience in tribulation is better and leads to Paradise. There is no harm in refraining from medical treatment for one who is able to bear it patiently, and healing through supplication is more beneficial than medication. Ruqyah (exorcism/spiritual healing) is permissible if it is free from shirk (associating partners with Allah). Dizziness is a symptom of jinn possession, and its treatment is through treating the possession. There is no harm in foregoing medical examinations if they are not beneficial. Medical treatment is prescribed (in Islam), and patience with illness does not contradict expressing complaint without grumbling. Patience has many virtues, including Allah's support, His love, attaining leadership in religion, and glad tidings of Paradise. Reciting the Quran benefits the sick person if the reciter has strong conviction and reliance on Allah. It is permissible to conceal the matter from relatives if disclosing it would lead to accusations of insanity. Affliction with illness may be due to sins so that the servant may repent, or due to the injustice of jinn, or for other reasons.
