Muslims must strive to acquire the means of progress and cultivate the earth through obedience to Allah. A Muslim does not sin by engaging in worldly sciences as long as he performs his obligatory duties and avoids prohibitions. There should be a balance between worldly responsibilities and acts of worship. If a Muslim intends through his work to benefit himself and other Muslims, he will be rewarded for it.
