Can the story of the two disputants who entered David's private chamber in Surat (Saad) be interpreted with an acceptable explanation that does not rely on Israʼiliyyat?

The verifiable exegetes have refuted what was narrated in the Isra'iliyyat concerning the story of David (peace be upon him). Ibn Kathir mentioned that most of the stories recounted are taken from the Isra'iliyyat and no authentic hadith has been established regarding them. Al-Nasafi stated that what is narrated—that David caused Uria's death to marry his wife—is unfitting for prophets. Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) threatened to lash anyone who narrates such stories.
