Do the jinn still eavesdrop and convey news to sorcerers, and are there proofs from the Qur’an and Sunnah that confirm or deny this?

The jinn used to eavesdrop on the heavens before the advent of Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him. Then, they were prevented from doing so after his advent, and the heavens were guarded by meteors. Scholars differed regarding the continuation of eavesdropping after the advent: some believe it stopped completely, while others believe it still exists but to a limited extent, where the eavesdropper is struck by a meteor, and may catch a word before being hit, or the meteors may strike them before that. This explains some forms of divination that may contain a grain of truth mixed with many lies.
