How sound is the saying: "The generous is beloved of Allah, even if he were a transgressor"?

Allah is Generous (Kareem); He loves generosity (karam) and loves noble matters and good character, and He rewards for them. If a person combines generosity and karam with profligacy and disobedience, then there are two factors in him: God's love and His hatred. The outcome depends on which of these two prevails.
