What should you do if you are assailed by negative thoughts that lower your morale and make you doubt the power of Zamzam water to heal and fulfill wishes, despite your belief in the hadith, "Zamzam is for what it is drunk for"?

The hadith has differing opinions regarding its authenticity and meaning. Ibn al-Qayyim, in Zad al-Ma'ad, stated that the hadith is hasan (good), and some scholars have authenticated it, while others have deemed it mawdu' (fabricated). Both extreme positions involve exaggeration. Scholars have also differed on the meaning of the hadith; some have generalized it, while others have particularized it. The most accurate view is that the water of Zamzam, when drunk for a purpose, relates to what nourishes the body. Scholars and righteous individuals have experienced its benefits for both worldly and otherworldly needs, and by the praise and grace of Allah the Almighty, they have attained them. It is recommended for the one who drinks it to supplicate to Allah the Almighty and to observe the conditions and means for the supplication to be answered.
