Are the thoughts that come to the inquirer about the existence of fatwas that permit dealing with jinn or resorting to magic in cases of extreme necessity, or when faith is weak, correct? And is it permissible for humans to deal with jinn in general?
Seeking help from jinn is absolutely forbidden and no necessity permits it. Whoever does so shall be severely punished. As for drawing near to jinn by sacrificing or vowing, it is disbelief in Allah. Protection from the evil of jinn is achieved by seeking refuge in Allah and invoking His protection. It is not permissible to cure magic with similar magic, but only with ruqyah from the Qur'an and Sunnah. Whoever has these thoughts should avoid and disregard them, believing that Allah alone is the Granter of benefit and the Inflictor of harm. And one who is weak in faith should strengthen their faith so that Allah may grant them well-being.
