Dealing with sorcerers is strictly forbidden. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, counted sorcery among the seven destructive sins. Causing separation between spouses is a major sin and one of the most dangerous acts in the sight of Iblis. There is no specific worldly punishment for causing separation between spouses or seeking sorcery, but the ruler may impose a discretionary punishment on the perpetrator. A father's divorce of his mother does not take effect if he was under the influence of sorcery that made him unconscious of what he was saying.
