Is a daughter raising her voice at her mother considered an act of disobedience (ʿuqūq), even if the mother is pleased with her and prays for her?

The mother's right is great, and honoring her is a reason for Allah's pleasure, while disobeying her is among the grave sins. One must repent from raising one's voice at one's mother and address her with politeness, gentleness, humility, and reverence, as Allah Almighty says: "So do not say to them, 'uff,' and do not repel them but speak to them a noble word. And lower to them the wing of humility out of mercy and say, 'My Lord, have mercy upon them as they nurtured me when I was small.'" Raising one's voice at parents and addressing them in an inappropriate manner is not permissible, and if they are harmed by it, that is a grave sin. It is permissible to reduce the time spent with them to avoid their anger, provided that there is no neglect of their rights, and one must strive to be polite and avoid anger. Good manners are acquired through habit and practice, and by frequently remembering Allah and supplicating to Him.
