What is the ruling on children breaking their fast when they are fasting for 18 hours in a European country and cannot complete their fast during the school day?

Whoever reaches fifteen lunar years is considered an adult and is obligated to fast and perform all other duties. If one begins to fast and then becomes unable to complete it due to an unbearable hardship, they may break their fast and must make it up later. It is not permissible for an adult to break their fast initially due to the long day. As for one who has not reached puberty, fasting is not obligatory for them, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The pen has been lifted from three: from the sleeper until he awakens, from the child until he grows up, and from the insane until he regains his sanity or recovers." However, the child is commanded to fast as a form of training. Muslims in general, and those residing in the West in particular, must preserve the religion of their young children and command them to pray and encourage them to fast so they may become accustomed to it.
