Is it obligatory to abandon the rituals of Islam—such as prayer and fasting—until one is able to adhere to all the commands and prohibitions of Islam, especially if one is unable to marry and unable to protect oneself from zina (unlawful sexual intercourse)?

It is not permissible for a Muslim to abandon the rituals of Islam, such as prayer and fasting, on the pretext of committing sins. Rather, maintaining them while committing a sin is better than abandoning them. A Muslim must perform all commands and abstain from all prohibitions, and shortcomings in one matter do not justify shortcomings in another. Repentance to Allah from grave sins is obligatory.
