Is a husband entitled to squander a large sum of money on new clothes so his brother can see them, then gift them to his sister, while knowing his wife and children are in need of it?

The husband must fulfill his promise and bring new clothes, and the wife should find an excuse for her husband. Marital life is built upon affection, mercy, tolerance, forgiveness, and overlooking mistakes. The husband is rewarded for maintaining kinship ties, and the wife is rewarded for her patience, seeking reward from Allah, and loving good for others. Charity given to family members is among the greatest in reward.
