The expiation for intercourse during the daytime in Ramadan is obligatory in the following order:

1. Freeing a slave (currently unavailable). 2. Fasting for two consecutive months. 3. Feeding sixty needy persons, each person receiving one mudd of the staple food of the land (approximately 750 grams of rice).

One only moves to the next option if unable to perform the preceding one. It is permissible to pay the value of the food to a trustworthy charity to carry out the feeding.
