Is it permissible to pay the cost of feeding sixty destitute persons to a restaurant, so that it may undertake distributing the food to the poor and needy during Ramadan as expiation for intercourse during it, and what is the correct amount for the cost of one meal?

The expiation for intercourse during Ramadan is: freeing a slave. If that is not possible, then fasting for two consecutive months. If that is not possible, then feeding sixty needy persons. It is not permissible to move to feeding except when unable to free a slave or fast. It is permissible to appoint an agent for feeding, by giving the food or its value to a trustworthy restaurant to feed the needy. Care must be taken that the meal is no less than 750 grams of food, and diligence must be exercised in choosing the deserving needy.
