What is the ruling on using contraceptives to distribute income among fewer children, thereby increasing each child's share of maintenance and care, and due to limited living space? And what is the ideal method of contraception and the regulations for its use?

The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) encouraged marrying fertile women, as this leads to an increase in progeny, which strengthens the Ummah. He (PBUH) said: "Marry the fertile, affectionate woman, for I shall boast of your multitude before the nations on the Day of Resurrection." Allah has guaranteed the sustenance of every creature, as He Almighty said: "And there is no creature on earth but that upon Allah is its provision." Therefore, cramped living conditions or a low salary are not valid justifications for refraining from having children.

Contraceptive methods are divided into two categories: 1. Permanent methods: These are not permissible to use unless childbearing poses an imminent danger to the mother's life, as attested by a trustworthy doctor. 2. Temporary methods: These are permissible to use when there is a necessity or need, such as the wife's illness or weakness. The Companions practiced azl (coitus interruptus), and the Prophet (PBUH) did not forbid them. The best contraceptive method varies from one woman to another, and this should be referred to a specialized doctor.
