Is it authentically reported from Ibn Mas’ud that he said: “I have not regretted anything as much as I have regretted a day whose sun has set, in which my lifespan has decreased, and my good deeds have not increased”?

This narration has not been found in ancient references, but it is present in the books of later scholars such as: Miftah al-Afkar by Abd al-Aziz al-Salman, Al-Waqt wa Ahamiyatuhu fi Hayat al-Muslim by Ali al-Shahhoud, and Mawsu'at Khutab al-Minbar by Ahmad al-Sunni, without any attribution or ruling on its authenticity. Some contemporary preachers have mentioned it in their sermons and admonitions, such as Muhammad Hassan.
