A woman's belief in equal rights is not sufficient evidence of her desire for divorce, and forcing her into it is arbitrary. Argumentation in this matter should be avoided, and the spouses should focus on what benefits them and achieves family stability. Islamic law has granted men and women rights and duties that differ according to their natural creation. The husband's guardianship is a responsibility and a duty to organize the family, not an act of domination, and the wife's obedience is restricted to matters of marriage. Portraying the wife as inferior to the husband with the intention of contempt is impermissible and constitutes ill-treatment, and the husband must treat his wife well.
