A three-party discount card sold by a company, from which the buyer benefits by receiving discounts from shops, restaurants, and hotels, is not permissible. This is the opinion of the Permanent Committee for Issuing Fatwas and a number of contemporary scholars. This is because it involves consuming wealth unlawfully (أكلًا للمال بالباطل) and (uncertainty) that resembles gambling. Whoever purchased this card before knowing the ruling bears no sin and may benefit from it to the extent of what they paid.
