What is the ruling on subscribing to companies that offer discount cards and free coupons for a fee, and that ask people to invite others to subscribe in exchange for a free dinner invitation? And what is the way to repent if this is forbidden and one has subscribed to it out of ignorance?

A three-party discount card sold by a company, from which the buyer benefits by receiving discounts from shops, restaurants, and hotels, is not permissible. This is the opinion of the Permanent Committee for Issuing Fatwas and a number of contemporary scholars. This is because it involves consuming wealth unlawfully (أكلًا للمال بالباطل) and gharar (uncertainty) that resembles gambling. Whoever purchased this card before knowing the ruling bears no sin and may benefit from it to the extent of what they paid.
