What is the Shar'i (Islamic legal) opinion and the advice directed to a Muslim girl who faces strong family opposition to her marriage to a religious and well-mannered young man, due to his nationality and residency status, and her desire to hold on to him, knowing that the family believes the young man is unstable and unsuitable for their daughter, and that the girl desires advice for her family, for the young man, and for herself?

If an adult, sane woman requests her guardian to marry her to a suitable suitor, he is obliged to do so; otherwise, he incurs sin. She has the right to take her case to a judge to marry her, especially if the suitor is a man of religion and good character, for the the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "If someone whose religion and character you approve comes to you, then marry him. If you do not do so, there will be tribulation on earth and widespread corruption."

Parents are advised to marry their daughter to someone who fears Allah concerning her. As for the young woman, she is advised to perform Istikhara (prayer for guidance) and entrust her affairs to Allah, while also observing the rights of her parents, for the pleasure of Allah lies in the pleasure of the parents.
