Is Zakat obligatory on gold used for adornment if it reaches the nisab, and is the intention of charity sufficient for fulfilling Zakat?

If gold is prepared for adornment and wear, there is no zakat due on it according to one opinion. However, paying zakat on it is more cautious and absolves one's responsibility. Previous sadaqat (charitable donations) given without the intention of zakat do not count. When paying zakat, the intention that it is zakat is obligatory, without the need to utter it verbally.
