Is naming a newborn girl "Linda" permissible?

The aforementioned name cannot be ruled upon as prohibited or permissible because it has no origin or meaning in the Arabic language. It is a foreign, Western name whose meaning is unknown. Therefore, it is not advisable to name a newborn with it due to the possibility that it may have a bad meaning or contradict the beliefs and ethics of Muslims. It is preferable to choose the good names available in Islam.
