A woman is not permitted to leave her husband's home without his permission, unless there is a legitimate Sharia-compliant reason, such as earning a living, seeking medical treatment, or consulting a jurist. Mere disagreement or his marriage to another woman does not permit her to leave. If the husband provides her with the obligatory maintenance, she is not allowed to leave without his permission. She has the right to request a separate dwelling, justice, and maintenance. If he prevents her from these, she may seek a divorce or refer the matter to the judiciary.
