Is it permissible for the wife's father or mother to give her permission to leave her husband's home despite the husband's refusal and knowledge of it?

A wife who has been entered into (consummated the marriage) must not leave her husband's home or her parents' home except with his permission. If she leaves without his permission, for no legitimate Shar'i (Islamic legal) reason, she is considered rebellious (nashiz) and her right to maintenance (nafaqa) is forfeited, and the husband has the right to discipline her. Her parents do not have the right to permit her to leave without the husband's approval. The wife's parents must denounce her leaving without the husband's permission, rather than assisting her in it. It is recommended to strive for reconciliation and to involve people of goodwill to resolve marital problems. Likewise, both spouses should be keen on family stability through dialogue and understanding, resolving problems away from anger, and striving to keep the problem private as much as possible. As for a wife who has not been entered into (marriage not consummated), her affairs are with her father.
