What is the ruling on gloating over a disbeliever whose body has been disfigured as a result of surgical operations?

Schadenfreude is the joy at the misfortunes that befall an enemy, and the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, sought refuge from it. However, rejoicing at what befalls an enemy combatant, a hypocrite, or one who slanders the religion, such as an enemy of the Muslims, is praiseworthy. It is a healing for what is in the breasts of the believers and a vexation for their hearts against these enemies who wage war against Allah, His Messenger, and the believers.

If the woman mentioned is one of these enemies who wage war against the religion of Allah and harm His allies, then rejoicing at the affliction that suppresses her and prevents her from causing harm is praiseworthy, especially if the affliction is due to her disobedience to Allah, and without transgressing the bounds of Islamic decorum. In this case, there is no harm in saying that she deserves what happened to her.

However, if she is merely a disbelieving woman who does not seek to harm Islam or Muslims, then it is better not to gloat over her, and it might be good to utilize her affliction to invite her to Islam.
