Is it permissible to place a television on the first floor of the mosque to display the Imam, knowing that the first floor is solely a prayer hall?

There is no objection to placing screens at the front of the mosque to enable congregants (especially in the women's prayer area and on upper and lower floors) to see the Imam, provided that they are used only to display his image, which helps in following him and reduces disturbance. The worshiper should not look at the screen except when necessary, and the practice in the mosques of the Two Holy Sanctuaries is not a proof for prohibition. If the screen is for displaying religious information, it should be placed behind the worshipers. There is no harm in operating it during the Friday sermon to increase attention and benefit.
