Does the fear of the third IVF attempt failing and the negative assumptions about the previous results contradict having a good opinion of Allah, especially since the female preacher sometimes feels despair despite her certainty that Allah will bless her with offspring?
Fatwa no. 67630 clarifies the ruling on in-vitro fertilization (IVF). It is advised to put trust in Allah and His management, and to supplicate with persistence so that Allah may facilitate good, and to repel the whispers of Satan and fear of the future. For what is decreed will come to pass, and supplication never lacks benefit; it is either a response, or warding off evil, or storing up reward for the Day of Judgment. One must praise Allah for what is achieved, and be content with His decree if the desired outcome is not realized, for what Allah decrees is good, as He says: "And it may be that you dislike a thing which is good for you and that you like a thing which is bad for you. Allah knows but you do not know." (Al-Baqarah: 216).
