Does the verse, "Say, 'Shall We inform you of the greatest losers in respect of their deeds? Those whose efforts have been wasted in this worldly life, while they thought that they were doing good work,'" include Muslims who are negligent in their acts of worship, such as one who prays quickly without humility and thinks that he has fulfilled the obligation? And what is the solution for someone who is often distracted in their prayer and lacks humility?

The speed of prayer varies between what invalidates it and what does not. Rushing that violates the pillars of prayer, such as one who performs their prayer poorly, invalidates it. However, rushing that does not violate the pillars is valid but disliked.

The noble verse (Say, "Shall We inform you of the greatest losers in [their] deeds?") includes everyone who worshiped Allah in an unpleasing manner, yet thinks they are doing good. This includes one who prays without tranquility, or one who introduces innovations into the religion, or a show-off. And whoever worships with invalid worship has lost their life and their deeds.

The cure for forgetfulness and lack of devotion in prayer is to seek Allah's help and refuge from Satan, to prepare for prayer with a complete ablution, to ponder the meanings of the remembrances and verses, to feel as though one is standing before Allah, and to maintain the devotion that forbids indecency and evil.
