How can music be forbidden when it is a tool for discovering important scientific theories such as improving bridge construction and shattering a glass with sound?

Musical instruments are prohibited by texts and scholarly consensus. A Muslim must submit to Allah's ruling, for it is impermissible to oppose the words of Allah and His Messenger with personal opinion and whims, as that leads to misguidance. Whoever opposes the Sacred Law with their opinion has resembled Iblis, who was the first to oppose Allah's command with his opinion. Iblis was the first to use analogy, and the sun and moon were only worshipped through analogies. Whoever finds discomfort within themselves regarding a religious ruling, their faith is incomplete, in accordance with the Almighty's saying: "But no, by your Lord, they will not believe until they make you, [O Muhammad], judge concerning that over which they dispute among themselves and then find within themselves no discomfort from what you have decided and submit in [full, willing] submission." Not everything that has benefit is permissible; for indeed, intoxicants and gambling have benefits, but their sin is greater, and the criterion is the balance of the upright Sacred Law.
