Is a husband entitled to prevent his wife from going out and socializing with neighbors on the pretext that the country is a "land of disbelievers," while he himself never takes her out, and she never sees anyone?

A wife must obey her husband unless he commands disobedience; his right is great, and disobeying him is a sin, especially concerning his forbidding her from going out alone in non-Muslim countries due to the prevalence of immorality there. The husband must treat her with kindness, go out with her whenever the opportunity arises, provide her with beneficial things to occupy her at home, and strive to find good company for her. She, in turn, must obey him and not go out except with his permission, and remain in her home as Allah Almighty commanded: "And abide in your houses and do not display yourselves as [was] the display of the former times of ignorance. And establish prayer and give zakah and obey Allah and His Messenger."
