Is the feeling of guilt regarding attraction to and thinking about people of the same sex, after experiencing sexual abuse in childhood, a valid feeling?

Praise be to Allah who intervened between you and sodomy, for it is a heinous sin and a great abomination. And praise be to Allah for your commitment to prayer and your avoidance of pornographic websites. Your feeling of guilt whenever you think about anything you used to be involved in is a sign of sincere repentance, for he who repents from a sin is like one who has no sin. Allah Almighty said: "Say, 'O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful.'" And Allah Almighty said: "Indeed, Allah loves those who repent and loves those who purify themselves." Every son of Adam is a sinner, and the best of sinners are those who repent. "Even if your sins were to reach the clouds of the sky, then you sought My forgiveness, I would forgive you," and "If you were to come to Me with sins that fill the earth, then met Me without associating anything with Me, I would come to you with forgiveness that fills it."
