Is a Muslim who suffers from a non-contagious illness, but one that might cause others harm through sight or smell, obligated to perform the Hajj? And will he be rewarded for the comments he endures from people? Or is Hajj waived for him?

Foul odors and non-communicable diseases do not exempt a capable person from performing Hajj, because he can perform Hajj without mingling with people, by choosing the appropriate time and place for performing the rituals.

Qadi Iyad reported from scholars that they prohibited those afflicted with leprosy and vitiligo from entering the mosque, attending Friday prayers, and mixing with people, for fear of harm from them.

However, if performing the ritual is not possible except by mingling, then the obligation of the ritual is more emphasized than the obligation of Friday prayer, and therefore, this would not be an excuse for not performing it.
