Is it permissible for my friend, a new Muslim who has a large wound on one of his legs and can only walk with a crutch, to go perform the rites of Hajj?

The ability to perform Hajj depends on the availability of transportation and the expenses for going and returning, after settling debts and securing the sustenance of one's dependents during absence, along with a healthy body, a safe route, and a mahram for a woman. A healthy body is a condition for the obligation of Hajj. Whoever is afflicted with a chronic illness or is incapacitated and unable to move around is not obligated to perform Hajj. However, whoever is able to perform Hajj with the assistance of others must do so. If one is afflicted with a permanent disability that prevents them from performing Hajj and its removal is not anticipated, then they must appoint someone to perform Hajj on their behalf. But if the disability is expected to be temporary, then they must wait until it is removed to perform Hajj themselves.
