Is the husband obligated to spend on his family from his own money and on what he buys for his wife and children? Is he required to take them along on every outing? And does the wife have the right to object to their accompanying her if it causes her distress?

The husband is not obligated to financially support his family if they are self-sufficient, nor is he required to give them the same as he gives his wife, nor to feed them from what he feeds her; however, it is commendable for him to do so. Similarly, he is not obligated to take them on every outing; rather, he should sometimes take his wife exclusively and other times take his family, especially his parents, to gladden their hearts. The wife is obligated to observe hijab in front of her husband's brothers.
