Does the impermissibility of picking up a lost item (Luqata) in the Haram apply to valuable and non-valuable items alike?

A trifling item is not to be taken, whether in the Haram (sacred precinct) or elsewhere. Only that which has value and significance should be acquired. The value of an item varies with time; something may have value at one time but none at another due to the abundance of wealth, or it may hold value in times of poverty and need.
