What is the ruling on smoking marijuana or bhang?

Smoking is unlawful due to its impurity and harmful effects, based on the Almighty's saying, "He makes lawful for them the good things and makes unlawful for them the impure things," and the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying, "There should be no harm or reciprocating harm." The prohibition becomes stricter and the sin increases if what the smoker consumes contains a narcotic substance.
